FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
java version "1.6.0_10-ea"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_10-ea-b08)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.6.0_10-ea-b08, mixed mode)
ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6000]
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
The applet in http://iamwww.unibe.ch/~wenger/DA/SkipList/ paints past the bottom of the browser window if you scroll down the page. I've noticed similar behavior with other applets.
The problem seems to occur if the applet is located partially outside the bounds of the page when the first renders, scroll down the page then triggers the bug.
I use 1280x1024 (the native resolution for my 19" LCD). I've attached
three screenshots, one with FireFox2 (old plugin) and two others another
with FireFox3 (new plugin). It seems that even the old plugin has a bug
with this applet but it is far more pronounced with the new plugin.
FireFox2.jpg:
1) Open page with applet
2) Scroll down a bit (not all the way to the bottom)
3) Rendering anomalies will occur
FireFox3-before.jpg:
1) Open page with applet
2) Scroll to bottom of page (rendering anomalies will occur)
3) Hit F5 to repaint the page
FireFox3-after.jpg:
1) Continue from the above step
2) Scroll up the page a few lines
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
Release Regression From : 6
The above release value was the last known release where this
bug was not reproducible. Since then there has been a regression.
