JDK registration requires Sun Online Account login to complete the registration process. When a user registers JDK 6u5 and later installs JDK 6u6 (or some Java SE release), the user is required to register the newly installed JDK again. We should provide some kind of JDK registration preference support so that JDK is only needed to register once and any subsequent installation of a new version of JDK will automatically be registered.
This feature depends on the Sun Connection group to provide a solution to update a registered JDK without requiring user authentication (or unregister if JDK is required to unregister itself).
This RFE is related to 6676386.
When a user upgrades to a new version of JDK (i.e. install a new version and uninstall the old version), the previously registered JDKs will still show up in the Inventory Channel and also the service tag registry if exists on the system but these JDKs have been uninstalled.
