JAWS reports font incorrectly

XMLWordPrintable

      FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
      java version "1.5.0_08"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_08-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_08-b03, mixed mode)

      ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
      Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

      EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
System must have JAWS 7.0 and AccessBridge 2.0 installed

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
With JAWS enabled, pressing "Insert-F" in an application is supposed to describe the font at the cursor's location (e.g., "Times New Roman, Bold, 20pt").

In Swing applications, JAWS simply says "0 point."

Verified that this is still broken with AccessBridge 2.0.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
      Enable JAWS.

Startup the SwingSet demo app. Give any component focus. Press"Insert-F". JAWS will say "Font is 0 point."

      EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
      EXPECTED -
Expected JAWS to accurately describe the font information.

Compare by starting a native application such as Notepad. Type in some text. Press "Insert-F". JAWS will say "Font is Lucida Console ten point."
      ACTUAL -
JAWS says "Font is zero point" and no other information about the font, always.

      REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.

      ---------- BEGIN SOURCE ----------
No need for separate executable -- running JAWS on the SwingSet2 application is sufficient.
      ---------- END SOURCE ----------
