After installing 32 bit JRE on 64 bit WIN XP OS, "Java -version" on command prompt doesn't show latested current installed version.

How to reproduce?

1.) install 32 bit JRE on 64 bit WIN XP machine.
2.) After installation is completed, execute "Java -version" on command prompt. It shpould show "java version "1.6.0_10 ... "

Actual behaviour : It does not show latested current installed version of JRE. It showing error

Error opening registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment'
Error: could not find java.dll
Error: could not find Java SE Runtime Environment.
