Some iwon game applets fail to load specifically on Windows Vista/ IE 7.
The problem is neither reproducible on Windows Vista/ FF 2.0.0.14 nor XP-pro(sp2)/ IE 7
Tested OS: 32-bit Vista(sp1)/ XP-pro(sp2)
Browser: IE 7, FF 2.0.0.14
Build: jre 6u7-b02/ jre 6u6-b02
Steps to reproduce:
------------------
- Install jre 6u7-b02 on the Windows Vista test system
- Using IE 7 to browse iwon game home page
http://www.iwon.com/home/allGames.jhtml
- Click to play "Caribbean Stud" game (or Bat-A-Rat, Battle Tank, ...)
If the game applet fails to load, then the problem is reproducible.
Attached is the defect screenshot and here's the NPE from Java console:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.loadJarFiles(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.runLoader(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
The same game applets load OK on Vista/ FF 2.0.0.14 and XP-pro(sp2)/ IE7
The same issue is noticed on Windows 2008-standard/ IE 7 using jre 6u7-b03. When the problem occurs, thre's only one way to kill IE is to use Windows task manager.
