Required restart of Firefox browser is not obvious

This finding comes from a user study.

During the test, users needed to update Java in order to be able to run a applet (old Java version was installed on user's machine). After the Java installation, users weren't prompted to restart the browser, which caused the applet failed to load. Because of that, users had to be told that they must restart the browser.
