Plugin Finder Service is broken on Firefox 3. Users don't get the PFS's notice of
"Additional plugins are required...." "Click here to download plugin".
The problem doesn't occur if using Firefox 2.0.0.x
Tested OS: XP-pro(sp2)(sp3), Windows Vista (sp1)
Browser: Firefox 3 (GA version)
Steps to reproduce:
------------------
- Remove all jre/jdk available on the test system
- Using Firefox 3, browse Yahoo super bounce out applet:
http://games.yahoo.com/console/bo
(or your favorite applet)
If you don't see any notice that you need to download plugin, then the problem is reproducible. Clearly, this issue only occurs on Firefox 3 (not Firefox 2.0.0.x)
It impacts jre adoption and FF 3 user experience.
As Firefox 3 is publicly available, we should resolve this issue with Firefox team.
