Testing auto-update on Windows Vista Ultimate as an Admin user with UAC on.

After installing jre 6u10, I checked the Java Update/Policy registry key and noted the values of ScheduleID, UpdateSchedule and Frequency. I then went into the Java Control Panel. On the update tab I used the advanced button to set the update schedule to daily at 2:00pm. I then added an UpdateServletURL value to the JavaUpdate/Policy registry key to test auto-update. And noted that the values of UpdateSchedule and Frequency had changed, but ScheduleID remaied at "S-1-5".

I then set the system time to 1:55pm and logged out. I logged back in immediately and verified jusched.exe was running. I then waited until 2:00pm according to the system time at which time a UAC dialog was shown asking for permission to run jucheck.exe. I then looked at the registry and saw that UpdateSchedule and Frequency had changed again, along with ScheduleID. I verified in jusched.log that the next scheduled update check would be 8/23/08 at 21:00:00, and JCP showed the schedule as monthly on the 23rd day of the month. The current system date was 7/25/08. The update schedule I had set (daily at 2:00) had been changed by jusched.exe
