HP is installing Java SE 6U6 on Windows Vista Ultimate, 32 bit using IE 7.
The log says installation complete.
He then tests his installation with:
http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml,
he sees the orange java icon replaced by the red x. Never sees the dancing duke
I've also attached the java console he had open during one installation where it shows
a class not found.
I could not reproduce the problem running 6U6, Windows Vista Ultimate, 64-bit with IE 7 (32-bit) -
saw the dancing duke.
I did get the orange logo followed by red X when I used IE 7 64-bit (understandably since we do not
have a 64-bit JRE).
He is using remote desktop so asked him to verify what IE 7 version he is running (32 or 64 bit).
I realize this may not be an installer issue but thought I'd get your suggestion on what could be up
with his environment.
