JRE can`t be installed if installer file is located in installation directory

XMLWordPrintable

    • Type: Bug
    • Resolution: Won't Fix
    • Priority: P5
    • 8-pool
    • Affects Version/s: 6u10
    • Component/s: install
    • None
    • x86
    • windows_xp

      Steps to reproduce:
      1) Put jre-6u10-windows-i586-p.exe (b33) to "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6"
      2) Run it, click Accept on the first panel.
      3) The "Close Applications" dialog is shown and it suggest to close jre-6u10-windows-i586-p.exe

This is reproducible always even though I rename the executable file name to something different.
It does not happen with jre6u7 (put at its default installation location C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07) so that`s the regression.
