Now that the new Java Plug-In is in place and its standalone Applet2Viewer has been thoroughly tested, we should update the appletviewer executable, which continues to use the old Java Plug-In's applet container, to use either the new Applet2Viewer or JNLP2Viewer. The obsolete code that the appletviewer uses is causing customer confusion when their sophisticated applets fail to run in that container.

It may be necessary to provide a command-line switch to fall back to using the old applet container in case of any incompatibilities, but the default should be to use the new container.
