The JNLP specification says that the j2se or java element in a component extension is ignored. This should be clarified in a future spec release to say it is ignored for selecting what java version to run with.
But there can be nested resources in the java element of a jnlp file, and they should work.
The nested resources should only be included for a java or j2se specification that matches the version of java being run.
