  To give native access to hardware resources like ICs, etc. using Java NIO, OSGi and JMX.

JUSTIFICATION :
OSGi and JMX are very successful and aggressive technologies. Now they already are used in mobile devices, ICs (IBM and TI offer such solution for TI DSPs). It will be very powerful if such capabilities are provided in standard Java API.
For example for Media (Video, Audio, Voice) and Telecom market this is very important.
