The auto-update process currently gets the map.xml from java.sun.com. All that happens on java.sun.com is a redirect to the javadl-est.sun.com CNAME which is a DNS level redirect to the CDN of our choice. There is no need for the first java.sun.com redirect and it adds unnecessary traffic to the Sun servers and firewall.
