Run the test attached to this bug report. It shows a frame with a checkbox, which triggers opaque and non-opaque mode for the window. If the test is launched on Windows XP, the window occasionally is not made non-opaque when the checkbox is selected - you may need to switch it on and off several times to reproduce the issue. No problems are observed on Windows Vista.
