A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
When attempting to uninstall Java 6 Update 13 (64-bit), Java SE Development Kit 6 Update 13, Java SE Development Kit 6 Update 14 (64 bit), to upgrade, I am getting the following message:
Error 1723: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.
A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.
Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
I am attempting to uninstall all the versions that I have installed and reinstall the latest version on a fresh system. I am unable to do this because of this error. I've attempted to install again anyway, I am getting the same message.
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
All that I did was
1) Have both Version 13 (32 bit) and Version 13 (64 bit) on the system.
2) Attempt to uninstall Version 13 (32 bit)
3) Attempt to uninstall Version 13 (64-bit)
EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
Probably get the same error mentioned in the bug report:
Error 1723: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.
A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.
Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
ACTUAL -
