EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
JRE 1.6.0_11 and 1.5.0_18 installed. When 1.6 was deselected in control panel, the problem went away.

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
On opening the dialog, entering a masked search (ie *.txt), and selecting several file, then clicking on Open, the dialog hung. Selecting multiple files without doing a masked search worked just fine.

I downloaded & installed Java JDK 1.6.0.14. This
Had no effect on the problem. The file selection dialog still hangs
When doing a masked search, and selecting multiple files. The 1.5 version
Does not have this problem.

REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.

CUSTOMER SUBMITTED WORKAROUND :
do not do a masked search, just select multiple files and click Open.

Release Regression From : 1.5.0_18
The above release value was the last known release where this
bug was not reproducible. Since then there has been a regression.
