Bug 6860973 "Project Coin: Underscores in literals" proposes to allow underscores to appear in integral and floating-point literals. A decision should be made on whether or not analagous support should be provided in the various library methods that convert strings into numeric values.
If such support is *not* added, the specification of the methods in question should be amended to not directly refer to JLS grammar sections or to modify the grammar productions accordingly.
