Test run log location:
Here are the steps to reproduce this issue.
1.) Install with jre6u18b04-i586.exe.
2.) set UpdateServletURL in regedit as
"UpdateServletURL"="http://j2se.east.sun.com/arc/1.6.0_18/pit/2009-11-12/windows-i586/map.xml"
3.) Invoke java control panel,select update->update now,
Expected Behavior:
It should show the dialog with message "You already have latest JRE ....."
Actual Behavior:
No dialog is displayed.
4.) Now create one more registry for Manual Update.
"ManualUpdateServletURL"="http://j2se.east.sun.com/arc/1.6.0_18/pit/2009-11-12/windows-i586/map.xml"
5.) Invoke java control panel,select update->update now,
Expected Behavior:
It should show the "Java Update Available" notification dialog.
Actual Behavior:
No dialog is displayed.
6.) Launch jusched.exe and wait for 6-8 mins, Java Update balloon is shown in the system tray.
So by looking at Actual Behavior in Step 3 and 5, it looks like "Update Now" Button functionality is broken on Win2K.
