When a user specifies log file directory name including " "(space) char. as runtime parameter in Java Control Panel(JCP), this option seems ignored.
REPRODUCE :
1) Open JCP
2) Click "Java" Tab
3) Set dir. path name including spce char. to -Xloggc as follows.
-Xloggc:"C:\home\plug-in_test\5u22+0800xx\7\lo g\gc.log"
( There is a " "(space) between "lo" and "g" of "lo g". )
4) Open InternetExplorer and go to some sites which invoke some applets.
(ex. http://java.sun.com/applets/jdk/1.4/index.html)
5) gc.log file does not show up under "lo g" directory.
CONFIGURATION:
OS : WindowsXP(SP2, Japanese)
JRE : 5.0u22(x86)
IE : IE6(SP2)/IE7
