Unlike most com.sun.* classes, some swing classes and in particular some Nimbus classes are a supported part of the platform. Therefore, no compiler warning should be issued if these classes are used. The exported com.sun.java.swing.plaf.nimbus.* API exposed by OpenJDK 6 should made that exposed in the 6 update train.
