    Description

      FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
      JRE6u19

      ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
      Windows XP | Windows 2000

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
I installed JRE6u19 on my computer with a previous JRE5u14 on it.
When i uninstall JRE6u19 (even with Control Panel or silent uninstall), i can't use anymore Java Plug-in. Applets can't launch even with Java Plug-in 1.5 which is still present.

I looked for the classId in my registry base and there are still "Java Plug-in 1.6.0_19" references after the uninstallation. For example with classId 8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93.

This seems very similar to bug id 6543896 which has been closed due to being a duplicate of the 6478297 bug. When I try to follow the link on the page, it says that it could not find that bug id.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
      1- Install JRE 1.5
      2- Install JRE6u19
3- Launch an applet : everything works fine until there
      4- Uninstall JRE6u19
5- Launch the same applet : no Java plug-in available

      EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
      EXPECTED -
At step 5, the applet must be launched with Java plug-in 1.5
      ACTUAL -
After JRE6 uninstallation, applet can't be launched anymore.

      REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
