Comments from users on OpinionLab: "I don't want others work to be lost when Java wants to update itself. I had no opportunity to choose "Restart later""
Reviewe the files in use design specs here:
http://xdesign.sfbay.sun.com/projects/java/j2se/consumer/Install/files-in-use/files-in-use-options-altered-for-6u15.html
and the alternate using "Postpone" or "Later" instead of "Cancel":
http://xdesign.sfbay.sun.com/projects/java/j2se/consumer/Install/files-in-use/files-in-use-options-altered-for-6u15b.html
Here are the current behaviors (as flash movies):
Update:
http://xdesign.sfbay.sun.com/projects/java/j2se/consumer/Install/competitive/java_update_6u12_to_6u20_with_java_active.swf
Cancel:
http://xdesign.sfbay.sun.com/projects/java/j2se/consumer/Install/competitive/java_install_with_plugin_active_cancelled.swf
Seems like we went with "Cancel" instead of "Postpone" (or perhaps "Later") so we wouldn't have to change the button labels... How hard would it be to change the Cancel to Later? Also, is the current behavior in line with the spec? That is, if I Cancel, and I get the following dialog, will it resume the install at some later time (when I next log in)?
