I find documentation for the Sun (oracle) implemenation of CORBA to be lacking. The source code isn't documented well either. The omg standard is extended by any implementation, and the Sun extensions are not documented.

It took me a long time to figure out to use the property -ORBServerHost as an orbd argument to set my true ip address (not the NATed one), more by luck than anything else. Can't find that documented anywhere, and there must be people behind routers trying to run CORBA servers.

Currently I'm looking for a way to set the ports used by CORBA server objects. They seem to be created randomly, which means firewalls have to forward all ports. The (undocumented) -ORBServerPort can only be set once at ORB initialilzation, and causes ALL objects to share that same port. It can't be changed mid-program insofar as I can see, and I can't find a way to choose the port an object listens on.
