JDK-2215554 | 7u4 | Chris Gruszka | P3 | Closed | Fixed | b08 |
We currently have many scripts in /java/deployment/ws/scripts dir that drive both the DS builds and the nightly builds. There is a ton of overlap, as far as building and staging the installer goes. Bill and Jennifer are the only ones that usually work on these scripts, and they generally make changes without peer approval. We should do the following:
-combine these scripts into one generic script.
-the scripts should take arguments such as user, ws location, archive-url, PIP, dummies, etc
-put the scripts into the install repo under src control
-all changes need to go through bugster and webrev
-definitions of env properties should be local to the machine, in a file in $HOME/env.inc
-possibly get RE to use these scripts
