A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
I'm an user of a Social Network that uses Java File Chooser to upload images to them. Interestingly, my camera saves all files as PHOTONNN.JPG (the important thing here is the Capital File Extension).

Using Java6 r22, I can't upload photos from my Camera in Linux (I tried in Chrome, Firefox and Opera to make sure it was not a problem of the browser).

  Interestingly, this bug is not reproducible in Windows (with Java 6, r22 same as in Linux) where you can upload the Photos with Capital Extension.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
First, I download the photos on my camera to the PC.

Then, I go to the webpage to upload my photos into it (www.tuenti.com but should be the same in webpages using this method) and select "Multiple uploading" so Filechooser just for images appears (this is, I'm not able to select anything different from images).

Then, I browse to the folder where the photos are.

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
I expected I can select which photos I can upload.
ACTUAL -
No photos to select appear.

REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
