JDK-2207671 | 6-pool | David Buck | P2 | Closed | Not an Issue |
Starting with JRE version 1.6.0_23, next-gen Plug-in only,
a banner in a layered HTML frame disappears behind a Java
applet with IE.
Testcase is attached, file is called LayerTrouble.zip
The customer has a webpage with an Oracle Webforms Applet and is using a
banner that is supposed to cover part of this applet.
This used to work fine, but starting with Sun java JRE release
1.6.0_23 this banner disappears behind the applet when starting
the application. It reappears when one enlarges the window.
Then it stays until the user clicks on the banner and then again
on the applet. This only happens with Internet explorer on Windows.
With Firefox the banner never appears. This started with a
certain version of Firefox, so the customer has filed a bug with Mozilla
for this.
Google Chrome doesn't have any of these problems.
Most of the customers of the customer use Internet Explorer, so
our customer need to get this fixed.
Some tests on Windows 7, IE 8 ...
