When installing the 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Java on the same system, the 32-bit Java control panel does not appear in the Windows Control Panel. Only the 64-bit control panel is shown.
(Note that although the version that I have installed at this moment is Java 6 Update 25, this issue was present in Update 24. The steps to reproduce are the same.)
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
1) Install the 64-bit version of Java 6 Update 24 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64
2) Install the 32-bit version of Java 6 Update 24 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64
3) Open the control panel
EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
Two control panel items will be shown. One called "Java", the other called "Java (32-bit)" The Java control panel item will configure the 64-bit version of Java, the Java (32-bit) item will configure the 32-bit version of Java.
ACTUAL -
Only the 64-bit control panel item (called "Java") will appear in the Control Panel. The 32-bit control panel item is not shown.
