Cannot disassociate plugin from Firefox/Mozilla via Java control panel

      OPERATING SYSTEM
      ----------------

      DESCRIPTION from LICENSEE
      -------------------------
If we uncheck the "Mozilla family" checkbox in Java Control Panel -> Advanced -> Default Java for browsers, applets can still be loaded by Firefox. There seems to be no way to disassociate the plugin from Mozilla/Firefox via the control panel. This seems to be due to the presence of a registry key in HKLM->SOFTWARE->MozillaPlugins, which is added during installation.

      REPRODUCTION INSTRUCTIONS
      -------------------------
      1. Install Firefox browser (we tested with Firefox 3.5 and 4)
      2. Install the JRE
      3. Open Java Control Panel -> Advanced -> Default Java for browsers, and uncheck the "Mozilla family"" checkbox
      4. Launch Firefox and open any HTML page containing an applet

      Expected result:
      Applet should not be loaded

      Observed result:
      Applet is loaded
