The Solaris version string has been modified to include more information. The new string looks like this:

was:

will be

pkg://java-nightly/consolidation/java/###@###.###,5.11-0.164.A.B.C.D:20110629T211618Z

Where A,B,C and D are defined below.





The number after the '-'
trunk_id.update.SRU.platform.buildid[.IDR_id.IDR_number]
¿ “trunk_id” build number for tip development gate, w/
leading 0 (ie 0.166)
¿ “update” 0 for FCS, 1 for update 1 etc
¿ “SRU” SRU number for this update
¿ “platform” Reserved (should be 0)
¿ “buildid” Build number of SRU, or identifier for
development tip
¿ “IDR_id” IDR identifier (optional)
¿ “IDR_number” Revision of the IDR (optional)


Additional Meta data is requested in the manifest so that users can easily see what has been changed.
