A DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUEST :
I have created an open source project with a small but powerful formatter for the java.util.logging framework.

You can find this at http://pformat.souceforge.net I would be delighted if this is estimated a worthful extension to the java logging framework.

Instead of everybody writing a customized formatter with the formatter provider this can be simply accomplished by choosing an individual printf format the formatter should use.

Have a look to the web page provided for details and feel free to embed it into newer versions. I am willing to give away the copyright if required, contact me in case you need any kind of agreement for that from me.

JUSTIFICATION :
The proposed improvement adds a powerful formatter to Java Logging enabling people to define own formatters be format strings, only.
