IPS packages are built and promoted by RE following the Java Release schedule but they are to be integrated into S11 repositories based on S11 release schedule and IPS version string depends on the S11 version that you are integrating into.

Hence, RE needs a script which can change the IPS package meta-data after IPS packages are generated. This script will be used when RE needs to integrate IPS packages into S11 repos.
