It looks like the old Regdeploy issue is reapearing with the combination of latest JRE 7u4 and JavaFX 2.1 runtime builds
*** Problem: javaws.exe, javacpl.cpl remain under /system32 after uninstalling both JRE 7u4 and JavaFX 2.1 from the system
*** Tested Configurations:
- x86 XP(sp3), x86 win 7, x64 XP(sp2)
- jre: 32-bit 7u4-b16 promotion (latest)
- javafx runtime: 32-bit JavaFX 2.1-b17 promotion (latest)
*** Steps to reproduce:
0) Make sure the system does not have any JRE or JavaFx runtime- All related regkeys are clean
1) Install jre 7u4-b16
2) Install JavaFX 2.1 runtime -b17
3) Uninstall JavaFX 2.1
4) Uninstall jre 7u4
The problem is reproducible if:
- On XP: javacpl.cpl and javaws.exe still existed under /system32 (or /SysWOW64 in the case of 32-bit jre/fx deployed on x64 XP)
- On Win 7: javaws.exe remains under /system32
