Installed JDK 7u6 Mac OS X preview, created the link to the preferences pane as per the instructions on java.net. I then launched the Java Control Panel via the System Preferences panel, clicked through to view the JRE's, clicked the "Find" button and proceeded to search for JREs.

While scanning for JRE's to add, I resized the window to view the full path of the JRE it was currently scanning. As the window was resized, it grew vertically to beyond the screen bounds making all the window controls and UI elements completely disappear. I had to press Escape to close the window and try again.
