FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
issues exists in the jdk's for both 7 update 4 and 6 update 32.
ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
windows xp sp3 x86
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
i have used the following command line for some time without any problem for both the ver 6 & 7 jdk:
\\altiris1\dspushes\java\jdk6u30.exe /s ADDLOCAL="ToolsFeature,DemosFeature,SourceFeature,PublicjreFeature" INSTALLDIR=c:\java\jdk6
it works for 6u30, 6u31, 7u2, and 7u3....
but stops working with 6u32 and 7u4. i have found that if i take of the installdir portion, it will work, but of course installs it in program files, not where i need it to go. i have tried it with and w/o the / before the installdir, doesn't work with either one.
the documentation does not show any changes.
was this intentional?
REGRESSION. Last worked in version 7
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
see description
EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
for the command line install to work the way it did in previous releases
ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
with the installdir on the command line (running w/o the /s switch) you get an error message:
windows installer:
invalid command line argument. consult the windows installer sdk for detailed command line help.
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
