A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
There is a problem with the court filing websites and Java 7. When will this problem be fixed? We received the following email:

Due to CM/ECF complications with Java 7, we recommend that public filers do not upgrade to Java 7. If you are experiencing technical problems, please contact your IT Department or Java.com. The CM/ECF help desk cannot assist public filers with technical problems (i.e., Java, etc.). As an additional support, PACER provides a list of frequently asked questions on their website at www.pacer.gov.
The link provided by the court system to not update to 7: http://www.ca3.uscourts.gov/ecfwebsite/default.aspx
The link provided by court system to download Java 6: https://www.pacer.gov/psco/cgi-bin/cmecf/ea-login.pl
I called Pacer at (800) 676-6856 as listed on http://www.pacer.gov/contact.html. The very helpful rep acknowledged that there is an issue with 7 and that users are being told to disable 7 and use 6. They took my contact information and will pass that on. Hopefully a test case can be generated that shows the issue is that is preventing the app from running on 7.
After speaking with a developer who works on the applet, there does not seem to be a technical issue with Java 7. The applet has not yet been tested with Java 7.

This bug should be closed as there is no issue with Java 7 to be fixed.
