windows_7
FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
Any version 7 Java is a no-go
ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
Windows 7 [Version 6.1.7601]
EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
We use Kronos for time tracking with our company and Java version 7 breaks it.
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
It is terribly difficult to use Java because while the same java app may run on any platform, the same Java app wont run on any version of Java. It's SO AGRAVATING as Java was supposed to be this great write once run anywhere platform, and it's NOT, it's write "and rewrite" over and over again, to keep an application compatible with multiple versions of Java. You can't just remain compatible with one version because other vendors are not doing that, so their users will be locked on version 6, or version 5.14 etc...
Make all future Java versions backwards compatible so that something written for Java 3 will run like a champ on Java 7! As a desktop engineer I totally hate Java for what it was supposed to be versus what it was actually implemented as.
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
