Solaris 10 and newer has an event port mechanism that providers a highly scalable interface for multiplexing connections. It would be desirable to develop a Selector implementation based on this and compare the performance to the /dev/poll based Selector. A second motivation is the /dev/poll is deprecated in Solaris and may be removed in a future release.
