Besides the rewritten compare.sh script, there is the old compare-objects script, and it's related spec.sh(.in) file, that I think should be removed before switchover. At least the latter is very confusing, it's easy to think that spec.sh has something to do with the build system and not the supporting compare scripts. If not deleted, they should at least get a better name.
