CAP member's product has an applet that runs in the browser and JRE where testers connect remotely to the Mac machines to perform testing, using VNC and the built in remote access server on the Macs.
On Mac OS X 10.7 with the latest 1.7 Oracle JRE, that the applet/JRE security dialog and Java control Panel are grayed out when accessing a Mac machine remotely using the built in remote tools. The client using is VNC. Here are some more details:
· Mac: OS x 10.7.5
· JAVA: Oracle JRE 1.7_10
· VNC Viewer: 5.0.3 (remote client-1)
· VNC Viewer: 4.1.2 (remote client-2)
· Screenshots attached.
· Issue observed with both Administrator and normal user login.
· Tried with all available screen resolutions and observed the same issue:
It only seems to happen on Mac OS X 10.7, the 10.6 version of Java (by Apple) does not have the same behavior. It seems an incompatibility between AWT/Swing and VNC.
