It seems that Microsoft no longer have the Summer 2004 Direct X SDK available for download.
This has been used by JDK since (at least) 6u10, when the new D3D pipeline was introduced.
That was developed back in 2007-2008 and this was relatively recent and stable.
We should upgrade to something more recent, such as the June 2010 version as used by FX
