Java 7u17
Java version: 7u17
Last version it worked in: 7u15
OS: ALL OS versions and platforms
Browser: Chrome Version 25.0.1364.172 m
User Agent Strings: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.22 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/25.0.1364.172 Safari/537.22
Applet: http://www.sumac.com
Bug description: Once Java web start is called by the application, it constantly tells the user an update is available. This occurs even after the update is installed.
This did not occur until the update to Java 7u17
Going back to an older Java corrects the issue
Steps to reproduce:
1) Go to www.sumac.com/install
2) Choose option 3 and download our JNLP file.
3) Once at the sign in screen close and restart Sumac.
4) Before you get to the sign in screen you will see the option to update even though you already have.
Reproduced by Java.com team: No
It may be a regression with 7u17 and web start
