As part of the falloout from JDK-8016701 where a new call to a JDK8 function was added, several people have asked if these libraries can be put into the build process following the langtools/hotspot/jdk builds, and built using the new binaries?
For example:
> 3) I don't think there is any reason except history and inertia for
> corba, jaxp, and jaxws to be compiled using the boot JDK. (Langtools
> definitely needs the boot JDK. Not sure about hotspot.) We should change
> the build system so that these libraries are built with the freshly
> built javac and core libraries, so that they can take advantage of newer
