windows_xp
FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
JAVA=7.0._25-b16, J2EE=?? How do I locate the J2EE version in Win/XP?
ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
MS Win/XP SP2 Media Center Edition V2002 Pentium D CPU (2)3.20GHz RAM(2 GB)
Physical Address Extension
EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
500GB C drive, 461GB capacity, 441GB free. Broadband connection, wired to a wireless router to support a <10 device network(Laptop, Iphone, TV, DVD, etc.)
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
On 6/21/2013 ~00:20, I was prompted to upgrade my JAVA version from what appears to be 1.6.0-22 to 1.7.0-25. This upgrade completed just fine. As a supplemental offer, the upgrade tutorial presented an additional process to search the system for backlevel
JAVA version, and purge those found. A disclaimer on that process explained that this
function might take some time.
After an hour of waiting for this completion, I let the system run until about 07:30 later in
the morning, where the process was still executing.
II terminated the Uninstall process, and begin to gather documentation.
I then reviewed the outstanding incident inventory, but found no event that matched this
description.
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Restart/rerun the JAVA Uninstall Tool
EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
I really don't know. I've never run the JAVE Uinstall Tool before.
ACTUAL -
The JAVE Uninstall Tool appears to just loop without any visible notification(s)
or user information(s).
ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
No error message were encountered
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced rarely.
---------- BEGIN SOURCE ----------
Source code for re-creation is unnecessary.
---------- END SOURCE ----------
CUSTOMER SUBMITTED WORKAROUND :
There is no known workaround that I am aware.
SUPPORT :
YES
