One participant was unsure where the unsigned app security warning dialog came from as it does not indicate it's from Java. This is a good point and need to discuss. One negative consequence is that given the amount of unsigned content on the web is high compared to other Java content, users would see "Java Security Warning" frequently and could give the wrong impression that Java is the cause of the security warning, not the app. Given that these apps will be blocked by default in a future release, it may not make sense to do anything here.
