Right now on Windows, MU (Manual Update) from the Java Control Panel, has a separate XML and can be updated separately even when AU is not enabled for a version.
On a Mac, there is no such thing. Mac MU and Mac AU follows the same update XML and this prevents disabling AU for a release although MU for these release can be enabled.
