A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
After uninstall tool failed (ver 6 upd 37), I took the advice to manually uninstall, but that failed, too. Apparently I don't have update 37, but 27, according to control panel uninstall info. And when I select to uninstall it, a dialog box says " The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable " and offers to let me browse for 'jre1.6.0_27.msi', which apparently is being sought in a folder that I don't even have (maybe because I have home ed. of Win 7)

I have admin priv, FWIW.

I did a search for jre*.msi (which turned up nothing) and then for *.msi (which turned up plenty, but no jre...msi.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Try to uninstall java 6 ver 27 (but why does it say 37 on the screen http://java.com/en/download/uninstallapplet.jsp).


ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
