FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
C:\>java -version
java version "1.7.0_40"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_40-b43)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 24.0-b56, mixed mode, sharing)
ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
windows 7, 32 and 64bit
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
The Java plugin on any browser is showing the date in the wrong locale.
We have the EMC networker 7.6.5 (a backup software, previously legato) and when looking at the tape library slot list, the "last access time" had the date in the locale format in java7 update21 and below. We are in Portugal, so it was DD/MM/YY .
Since update25 (and now update40), the date format is now USA style (MM/DD/YY). Reverting back to java7 update21 the date format returns to the correct date format defined by the locale.
REGRESSION. Last worked in version 7u21
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
enter the EMC Networker 7.6.5 -> Devices -> Libraries -> look at the tape slot list
EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
the last access time in locale format (DD/MM/YY)
ACTUAL -
we get USA format (MM/DD/YY)
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
