An attached 2d test (as well as some other 2d tests) prints "failed to create drawable" message to the console on certain machines.

The message can be observed with any java version.

The test itself does not print that message. It looks like it gets printed by the OpenGL engine.

I do not know if such a message signifies a bug or not. Logging this issue so the developers can evaluate if there is a problem behind that message.

Environment:

bus2001043.us.oracle.com (so far I have observed only on that machine)

How to reproduce:

[gtee@bus2001043 ~]$ java -Dsun.java2d.opengl=True -Dsun.java2d.opengl.fbobject=false VolatileSubRegion
