FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
java 7 51
ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
Window 7 64 bit
EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
msi g43 motherboard
msi 6670 gpu
intel 2320 cpu
corsair ssd
3x hdd
gskill 8gb ram
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
there is MAJOR bug in java 7 51 when a app is closed and uses java java will not terminate correctly and will continue to run starving the CPU of resources meaning the pc will slow down making it near impossible to do anything i have downgraded to java 7 45 that has no problem with this and stops correctly i think this bug has to be fixed ASP due to it wears the cpu by over using it and it deems the pc unusable untill you reboot
ADDITIONAL REGRESSION INFORMATION:
this was found while useing minecraft and closing it down after loading
in version 51 ) CPU usage goes up to 20-30% and dosent drop after closing app CPU usage stays at 20-30% this should not happen [playing any game that uses a good amount of CPU power will Shoot the CPU up to 100% and will never go down]
in version 45) Cpu usage goes up to 20-30% it quickly drops back down to the standard usage once closing the CPU usage it down to it original state
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
1 open up a game browser [anything that uses java]
2 wait a while then close it [you cpu uses stays the same even tho noting is running]
3 repeat and you will max your CPU to 100% even though nothing is running
EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
i would expect once any java app is closed for my CPU usage to drop back to a normal [this is what it did in older version] but for some reason java still runs in background hidden
ACTUAL -
my CPU usage would max out at 100% after 10-15 minuets causing me to reboot
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
CUSTOMER SUBMITTED WORKAROUND :
use java 7 45 to avoid this lag out bug caused by java not ending correctly and just hiding in background
